MidAmerican Energy Names Outstanding
Home Builder

Narby Homes has been
named MidAmerican Energy's Builder of the Year for
the Davenport area. Naby Homes has achieved this award
for 6 consecutive years.
Narby Homes is being
recognized for building the greatest number of Davenport
area qualifying homes in MidAmerican's EnergyAdvantage
New Homes Program and for its leadership in the homebuilding
industry. The award was presented to John and Cheryl
Narby.
MidAmerican honored
Narby Homes for outstanding use of design and materials
to improve the energy efficiency of the residential
construction projects the company manages.

The company has helped several area families purchase
new energy-efficient homes in the Davenport area,
said Rick Leuthauser, manager of MidAmerican's energy
efficiency programs. Because of the design and construction
techniques these builders use, current and future
owners will save energy and money over the life span
of their new homes. These homes are also more comfortable
and affordable, and contribute to a cleaner environment
in Iowa.
Design techniques
employed by Narby Homes include higher insulation
values in basement walls, sidewalls and ceilings,
high-efficiency windows and heating, cooling and water
heating systems, programmable thermostats and sealed
ventilation ducts.
